SAP Profitability and Performance Management – SAP PaPM
SAP Profitability and Performance Management, aka SAP PaPM, is an Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tool for designing, modeling, and using fast, powerful, user-generated calculation applications.
Replacing SAP PCM?
PaPM is the answer to the end-of-maintenance issue of the SAP Profitability & Cost Management (SAP PCM) tool.
Indeed, with a maintenance end date of December 2020, SAP needed to be able to offer to its customers a replacement solution.
SAP PaPM covers all the key functionalities of SAP PCM, namely
- allocations
- transfer pricing calculation
- calculation of product costs
- calculation of product profitability
- calculation of customer profitability
But it does even more.
Features of SAP PaPM
Based on the SAP Hana technology, PaPM allows to address the same functionalities as SAP PCM but with a drastic increase of its possibilities.
Indeed, PaPM makes it possible to easily process very large volumes in a few minutes thanks to Hana. Calculations that were sometimes impossible before are now just a click away.
It will allow you to perform your calculations in real time and even allow you to perform simulations in real time allowing you to directly see the impact of the modification of an inductor.
In addition, PaPM gives users the ability to quickly configure solutions capable of obtaining and aggregating data from a variety of source systems and databases.
It offers the ability to perform a variety of complex calculations down to very fine levels of granularity (leveraging the power of the SAP HANA platform for optimal performance).
Thanks to its embedded reporting solution, you will be able to easily visualize the result of your calculations, export it to Excel, or if you have SAP Analytics Cloud, see the result in your stories.
Finally, Sap PaPM allows you to rewrite the results in other applications such as SAP BW/4, SAP BPC or your ERP S/4HANA for further processing.
