A look back at Shiseido EMEA’s implementation of SAP Analytics Cloud for its strategic KPI’s
Testimony at USF 2019 in Lyon
On October 10th and 11th, Nicolas Trinquand, Finance – BI IS Manager EMEA at Shiseido had the opportunity to testify to a hundred participants at the USF’s annual conference in Lyon on the implementation of SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP’s all-in-one solution (include BI, Planning, Predictive Analysis) of SAP.

Gains in a nutshell
In essence, SAP Analytics Cloud was selected for its ease of implementation, and especially over their existing BW environments at Shiseido providing 2 essential points:
- Capitalizing on their existing BW jobs: SAP Analytics Cloud connects to already operated BW queries. This avoids duplicating data that already exists. This expands the uses of a source. This cushions the BW work that has been done in recent years.
- Offering a new experience to Shiseido’s Top Managers: having the company’s data instantly in their mobile device (on iOS for now – January 2019), all delivered in an attractive user interface, which can lead to a change of mind about the idea of the SAP BI
A look back at the SAP Analytics Cloud project
Karamba’s teams! have accompanied Shiseido Europe’s IT and logistics teams on this project, defining the architecture and implementing SAP Analytics Cloud on BW. As Nicolas Trinquand attests in the article, the longest is not to implement the tool contrary to what one might think, but to align the various interlocutors of the company in a shared definition of KPI’s.
